Damon Newman concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation and creditors’ rights. Mr. Newman has over 10 years of diverse experience in state and federal court. Significantly, he has represented creditors in several high profile chapter 11 proceedings across the country and negotiated multi-million dollar proof of claim disputes. Additionally, he has handled bankruptcy appeals in the Northern District of Illinois and handled complex ERISA litigation.
Prior to joining EM³, Mr. Newman was a partner of a prominent Chicago firm specializing in bankruptcy and commercial litigation.
Mr. Newman is licensed to practice law in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, New York, and the District of Columbia and is admitted in many district courts across the country. Mr. Newman is also a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Newman is also a member of the Chicago Bar Association.
In his spare time Mr. Newman trains for Ironman triathlons and is a four time Ironman finisher.
